Mosquito Squad of Savannah — Hilton head does more than just mosquito control. We can also help you with other pesky biters like fleas, ticks, and no-see-ums.
Fleas are small, but a huge problem, especially for your pet. More than just itchy, their bites can be painful, and can cause serious illnesses such as tapeworms, skin dermatitis, anemia, and more.
Similar to our barrier treatment, we add an extra ingredient to our time-released formula that adds flea protection. It stops the next generation of fleas by preventing their eggs from hatching. Installed in three treatments, it’s up to 95% effective, but a yard treatment is only one part of protecting your pet from fleas. They can pick them up when you’re out for a walk or elsewhere, and you should always use a topical flea control product or an oral treatment from your veterinarian.
Protecting people and pets is our priority, and one of the most dangerous biting bugs is the tick. Ticks can carry many serious illnesses, such as Lyme disease, Babesiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and more. Pets are especially susceptible to ticks and tick-borne illnesses, and many times act as a host for these parasites for some time before their owners notice and remove them. Thankfully, the same barrier treatment formula that we use for mosquitoes around your yard also eliminates ticks on contact, and because it’s time-released, prevents tick eggs from hatching, stopping the life cycle.
But for Mosquito Squad’s Savannah — Hilton Head tick control, we take an extra step. We strategically placing small tubes stuffed with a treated cotton (tick tubes) around your yard that entice mice. Mice love to use this cotton in their nests, and when a tick attacks one of these mice, it’s eliminated shortly afterward. Up to 95% effective, this proactive measure we take, along with our barrier treatment, gets rid of ticks at the source, before they come anywhere near you or your furry friends.
These little bugs are also known as sand fleas, and they can be one heck of a nuisance. Their name is because, well, they’re so small you can hardly see them. But their bites can be itchy, painful, and have the potential to get a couple inches in diameter on your skin and last for two weeks. They’re very similar to mosquitoes in that only the females bite, and in order to complete their reproductive cycle, need a blood meal.
If no-see-ums are a problem in your yard, we highly recommend installing a misting system for the most control. Programmed to go off at designated intervals for 30 seconds at a time, you can also release the treatment at the push of a button with the included remote.
